We are immensely proud of Silver Stories readers Emmy C and Arabella MS (Year 10), for their steadfast commitment to this incredibly worthwhile initiative. Under the direction of Miss Tyler, Higher Level Teaching Assistant in the Personalised Learning Centre, the students - or 'Silver Readers' - read aloud to senior citizens over the phone every week and even stay in touch during the school holidays with letters and postcards.

The scheme's Patron is HRH Queen Camilla, and just before the summer holidays she delighted Emmy and Arabella by sending them a personal note thanking them for updating her about their phone calls with Rita  - one of their Silver Listeners -  and reminding them that they should be very proud of their valuable contribution to the charity. The Queen's gesture highlighted the importance of the Silver Stories initiative and we send our warmest congratulations to Miss Tyler, Emmy and Arabella.
