Sixth Form Politics Lecture Day at the British Museum
Friday 22 November 2024
Following the potentially seismic election in the United States earlier this month, Sixth Form A-Level Politics students relished the chance to hear about the impact on the Presidency, Congress, the Supreme Court and the American political parties on Monday 18 November.
Talks on theory were delivered by academics at the Eccles Centre of the British library followed by anecdotes, explanation and a Q&A session on the reality of life in American politics from two former members of Congress, Bob Dold (R-Il) and Cheri Butos (D-Il).
The day proved academically valuable, and has inspired some pupils to seek similar lectures in their own time.
