‘A Safe Space For Us’ – RSE Talks with Alice Hoyle

Friday 22 November 2024

HALEY SADLER, HEAD OF PSHCEE

We were incredibly fortunate to have Alice Hoyle, a Wellbeing Education Consultant specialising in all aspects of Personal, Social, Health Education (PSHE), especially Relationships and Sex Education (RSE), visit our school this week to work with Year 10 – Year 13 students. She captivated our students with insightful talks on Relationships and Sex Education.

Alice shared expert knowledge in a way that was both engaging and informative. She encouraged our students to always seek support and reach out to a trusted adult who might be any teacher or support worker. We will never know in advance who a young person might feel safe to disclose an issue to, but if they do then we must be ready to utilise our professional experience, and various safeguarding channels within the school, to ensure that that disclosure is heard and actioned appropriately

We would like to extend our sincere thanks to Alice for taking the time to visit our school for the fourth year running. Her visit has undoubtedly made a positive impact on our students.

“I really enjoyed the RSE talk that happened on Tuesday. Alice made it educational, engaging and interactive, which made our whole year group interested in the three-hour session. Alice also created a safe space for us to feel comfortable and appreciate everyone’s different values.”

Beth T (Year 12)

Alice will be running an online parent meet later on in the year, details to follow. She will also be returning to Queenswood to work with our KS3 pupils in the future.
