Culture Fest Week: Celebrating Diversity at Queenswood

Friday 21 March 2025

This week, Queenswood came alive with vibrant celebrations of the many cultures represented among our pupils and staff. A series of special activities took place, bringing the community together to appreciate and share global traditions.

On Tuesday, an arts and crafts workshop showcased a variety of creative traditions, including Aboriginal dot painting, origami, henna painting, and Mexican papel picado. Pupils had the opportunity to explore these artistic techniques while learning about their cultural significance.

Wednesday was Traditional and National Colours Day, with pupils and staff proudly wearing stunning traditional attire. The highlight of the day was a series of cultural performances in the Ernest Read Hall, where members of the school community shared music, dance, and storytelling from their heritage.

The celebrations concluded on Thursday with a lively food festival in the Terrace Room. A delicious array of international dishes was enjoyed, allowing everyone to experience the flavours of different cultures.

A huge thank you to everyone who contributed to making this week so special, and to all who generously donated to Noah’s Ark Hospice. Your support and enthusiasm made Culture Fest Week a resounding success!
