7–11 October is Biology Week, and Queenswood has been marking the occasion with a number of activities. We participated in an A-Level talk hosted by the Royal Society of Biology involving scientists working on Antarctic penguin populations and corals at the Natural History Museum.

Year 12 made mitosis cell division cupcakes, as well as cell organelle hats, while Year 11 created mitosis pipe cleaner stop motion videos.

We will also be taking part in the Royal Society of Biology's Biocraft competition this year.

We would love pupils to create a biology-inspired 3D artwork from recycled, or other, materials and send Dr Vincini a photo to enter.

The deadline for entries is lunchtime on Monday 4 November 2024, so pupils have the chance to make their creation over half term.
