The Shapeshifter: Feather and Fang is the sixth book in the Shapeshifter series by Ali Sparkes. Released 8 years after the previous book, we understand that a little time has moved on for the characters from the huge destruction and near loss of book number 5.

Dax Jones and (almost all of) his group of friends are back at Fenton Lodge - the secret boarding school for COLAs (Children Of Limitless Abilities). Dax, who can shapeshift into a fox, falcon or otter at will, is uneasy with the new management team at the school. There seem to be far greater restrictions but will these protect the COLAs or put them in greater danger in the long run? After suddenly finding himself alone at school, Dax reaches to the outside world for help. Can he reunite the group and stop the corrupt powers that be from taking over?

The Shapeshifter series was one of my favourite series of books growing up. I read and re-read my copies until the covers fell off and then I read them again! Like the children in her stories, Sparkes has fantastic and seemingly limitless abilities to envelope her reader into a brand new world, one scarily like our own!
