This Week I Am Reading… World Book Day 2022
Friday 4 March 2022
At Queenswood, we are passionate about reading and this week we celebrated the 25th birthdays of both Harry Potter and World Book Day. The World Book Day message to all children this year was 'you are a reader!' - a sentiment that our teachers and librarians share regularly with the pupils.
Quite simply, reading as a teenager leads to success. The more our young people read, the more information they learn and the greater their understanding is of the world around them. Reading also helps equip teenagers to deal with the problems they will undoubtedly encounter during adolescence and shows them that everyone has challenges to navigate at some time or another.
Most importantly, reading is fun! Queenswood's teaching staff, the Personalised Learning team and our librarians are all on hand to help students make some fun reading choices and to support them to access their chosen books in the most appropriate way for them.
