We truly believe that by educating ourselves, we will be better equipped to support our children, and therefore we have introduced a termly Pastoral Event for parents of students at Queenswood.

Anxiety Around School Work
Thursday 30 January 2025 | 5.00pm–6.00pm in Bellman Sixth Form Centre
This session will be run jointly by Deputy Head Pastoral, Mrs Stokes, Mrs Leggett, School Counsellor, and our Wellbeing Prefect . The discussions will include: what this means, tips, how we as a school can support and how we can work collaboratively with you, as parents.

Isla van Tricht discussed how to approach awkward or difficult conversations with children, focusing on topics like consent and pornography, and providing advice on sex education.

Guidance was discussed on self-esteem and how we can support our children when lacking in this.
Drug Education UK
November 2023
Raising awareness of the risks and prevalence of misuse, including key information about drugs, solvents, tobacco and alcohol and how help can be sought.
Healthy Friendships
January 2024
In this talk the Wellbeing Hub explored the complex world of friendships and what parents and carers can do to help their children have happy, healthy relationships with others. They looked at how our interventions can help or hinder when they fall out with others, and what to do if we are concerned that bullying might be an issue.
