VICTORIA LOOKER, HEAD OF GEOGRAPHY
Year 12 Geographers have had a fun and educational four days in Yorkshire learning the skills needed to design and complete their independent investigations.
Their studies have taken them along the rapidly eroding Holderness Coast to survey the impacts of natural processes and coastal management on the coastal system, they have explored Scarborough’s place characteristics using the Great Places Wheel, street art and restaurant diversity and finally they carried out mini NEAs comparing the operation of the water and carbon cycles in two contrasting locations. In their time off they were able to have ice creams and go bat spotting.
The students have demonstrated impressive work ethics and enthusiasm for the practical side of Geography and have been a delight to take away.
