A-Level Physicists at the House of Lords
Friday 7 February 2025
Year 12 A-Level Physicists spent the day in the rarefied atmosphere of the House of Lords on Tuesday. They were in parliament at the invitation of Lord Mair, to attend an all-party Parliamentary Engineering Group discussion on decarbonising the economy.
They had the opportunity to network with leading figures from industry and academia, including Prof Paul Shearing, Professor of Sustainable Energy Engineering and director of the ZERO Institute at the University of Oxford, Dr Kristen MacAskill, Associate Professor in Engineering, Environment and Sustainable Development at the University of Cambridge, and Prof Andy Sloan, Managing Director and Senior Vice-President of COWI UK.
This was the third visit to the Palace of Westminster for Queenswood students this academic year, following a STEM trip to discuss driverless cars last term and a Politics tour of parliament in January.
