Cellist and Queenswood Music Scholar Kalli Z (Year 11) has had an unforgettable couple of weeks on tour with the National Youth Orchestra this month.

She performed in the NYO Illuminate concerts at the Barbican in London and at the Royal Concert Hall in Nottingham, featuring Ravel’s Bolero, Nielsen’s Symphony No. 4 and a new work by Icelandic composer Anna Thorvaldsdottir entitled Catamorphosis.

The concerts were hugely successful – the Barbican performance was sold out and received a standing ovation and a four-star review in the Guardian, while the Nottingham performance was broadcast on BBC Radio 3 and was very favourably reviewed by the Times (paywall).
