Queenswood’s U18 tennis team made history in the last week of June as they won the Aberdare Cup in Nottingham for the 28th time. This victory, coming just six months after our teams won the national schools championships at U13 and U15, means that Queenswood currently holds the national title at all ages.

The players excelled themselves all week, dropping just two matches throughout the finals, and beating teams from Repton, Eastbourne College, Culford and Surbiton to claim the title.

Despite playing for the U18 team, the girls are significantly young for their age group. Tia J and Sofia A are in Year 11, Bella L is in Year 10, and Alice H, Gabby R and Ava M are Year 9 pupils. The future certainly looks bright for this extremely talented group of players, who are in action again this week at the Independent Schools Doubles Championships at Eton College.
