This week in Academic Scholars, we looked at how we can be challenged better in different classes.

To understand how each subject plans to test their scholars, our Scholars Coordinator, Mrs New, sent a survey out to heads of departments. We heard from Art, Drama, Politics, History, and more, with each department head answering a range of questions.

A key question that was asked was: What opportunities are there for you to stretch your Scholars by undertaking challenging independent learning? A key question, because part of the Scholars’ programme is the promise of academic challenge, extra work, and extensions in individual learning. Many of us have filled out a secondary version of said survey, aiming to hear the student perspective of the response from our teachers, and what we have seen of the challenges that different heads of departments have given us.

Fortunately, all the Scholars believe that we are being tested and are being supported in honing our abilities appropriately!
