Academic Scholars: What Do the US Election Results Mean for the World?
Friday 6 December 2024
This week, the Academic Scholars had a round-table discussion considering the question: What do the US election results mean for the world?
They identified climate change, women’s rights, and conflict in the Middle East as areas where the impact is likely to be dramatic. The discussion developed into a reflection on global trends generally: whether individualism is growing or declining, the extent to which political attitudes are cyclical, and how young people feel about political activism.
A stimulating discussion, which certainly provided food for thought, and inspired further research and reading.
