We are thrilled to share this incredible drawing, titled ‘Happy’, by Hadiza Tafida (Upper Sixth), our artist of the month.

‘In this chalk pastel drawing, I have drawn my cousin at an event celebrating the end of Ramadan. I took a photograph of her as we laughed and reminisced about old memories and decided to use the picture for a piece in my A-level project on the theme of Identity. She is wearing traditional attire originating from the Yoroba tribe, which is called “Iro and Buba”.

The piece is inspired by modern Nigerian artists Aina Onabolu and Ben Enwowu.’
