Year 8 Sports Scholar Bethany Norton only took up clay pigeon shooting in March of this year – but her skills are already reaping unimaginable rewards.
On Saturday 7 December she was victorious in the Grand Final, having qualified as one of the top 15 U21 Ladies. The prize – a brand new MG!
Watch her interview with The Shooting Channel below.
Bethany has been working hard all term practising and then competing in The Schools Challenge at the Oxford Gun Company. She had to shoot in a number of their competitions to enable her to qualify for the Grand Final, and achieved the following placings:
- 28th September – 3rd in U21 Ladies Winter Series
- 2nd October – 2nd in Prep Girls (U15’s)
- 12th October – 1st in U21 Ladies Winter Series
- 2nd November – Joint 2nd in U21 Ladies Winter Series
She was also featured in the November issue of Clay Shooting Magazine as 'one to watch'. Her ultimate goal is to compete at the Olympics; we'll be watching her progress with great interest!
