Two very special musical events took place at Queenswood on Friday 24 June.

In the chapel, a choir of girls, staff and parents joined a congregation of the whole school community for choral evensong. The choir was led by our departing Musician in Residence, Tim Shaw, who conducted a stunning anthem, ‘This House’, which he had composed specially for the occasion.

Afterwards, the Music Department staged a remarkable concert in the Ernest Read Hall as a tribute to Mrs Edgar. Mr Dobson, Director of Music, organised this top secret event as an expression of gratitude to our retiring Principal, who has championed music during her decade at Queenswood. Current pupils, music staff, parents and OQ musicians were invited to perform, and the level of musicianship on display was truly exceptional.
