Clapham North House Supper: A Gatsby-themed Murder Mystery

Friday 26 November 2021

Clapham North’s House Supper went off with a bang, as the guests turned detective to figure out who had murdered their host in the middle of her welcome speech.

The theme was the Roaring Twenties, with jazz music and lavish decorations worthy of the Great Gatsby himself.

Thanks go to everyone who came and helped to make it such a special evening, particularly to the Year 7s who helped with serving and clearing the meal, and to Mrs Kelley for being such a good sport in her role as a reporter – definitely the star performer. Special mention to the House Leadership Team for organising such a fabulous event and playing their roles so well on the night.

Particular thanks to the Catering Staff who made the event possible and provided an absolutely delicious meal, and stayed late to make sure the Hall was back to usual for the boarders’ breakfast in the morning.

There were prizes given for the best dressed in each year group:

  • Y7: Evelyn N
  • Y8: Sienna C
  • Y9: Angelina O’N
  • Y10: Elizabeth P
  • Y11: Katelyn B
  • Y12: Tanya D
  • Y13: Gaby R
  • Staff: Mrs Kelley and Mrs Christoforou

At the end of the evening, it was revealed (as many had suspected) that the murderer was none other than the dastardly Mr Frater himself, who had passed a poisoned drink to his victim before her speech.

(Hopefully he redeemed himself slightly by inspiring donations for Noah’s Ark – enough to get him to shave off his beard but leave the moustache!)
