Easter Holiday Fun On Your Doorstep…

Friday 24 March 2023

After a bustling term crammed full of enjoyment and achievement for our pupils, the Easter holidays are here and we are all ready for some holiday fun! Our students in exam years will be busy revising, but we do hope they also take time to enjoy a break. Here are our suggestions for some holiday fun, right on your doorstep. Happy Easter!

Easter would not be complete without an egg hunt and there are plenty on offer in our local area. At a number of National Trust locations you can enjoy a leisurely Easter trail-walk before collecting your Rainforest Alliance chocolate egg when you finish. Click here for more details.

Church Farm in Ardeley are a not-for-profit farming, food, care and education farm. Their aim is to enhance the countryside, provide people with special needs the opportunity to learn and grow, conserve wildlife and farm ecologically. Over the holidays, you can pop along to the farm to feed the lambs, meet the Easter Bunny and even walk the goats!

Harpenden Common will be home once again to the Easter Fun Fair from Thursday 6 April to Monday 10 April. There will be exciting rides for all ages and stands selling refreshments. Hold tight!

If dance is your thing, there are lots of interesting events going on at The Place over the holidays. Located just five minutes walk from St Pancras station and home to London Contemporary Dance School, this Easter you can choose from holiday workshops, live performances and young people's experience days.

If you are heading into London, the Capital's churches and cathedrals including Westminster Abbey, Saint Paul's and Saint-Martin-in-the-Fields, will  welcome visitors to worship throughout Holy Week and Easter. Daily services are free to attend and include  morning prayer, holy communion, sung eucharist and evensong. On 7 April, you can watch a spetacular free performance of The Passion of Jesus featuring 100 performers in Trafalgar Square. There will also be a performance of Handel's Messiah at the Royal Albert Hall on Good Friday.
