After a busy term, the Easter holidays are here and we are all ready for some holiday fun! Our students in exam years will be busy revising, but we do hope they also take time to enjoy a break. Here are our suggestions for some holiday fun, right on your doorstep. Happy Easter!

Easter would not be complete without an egg hunt and there are plenty on offer in our local area. At a number of National Trust locations you can enjoy a leisurely Easter trail-walk before collecting your chocolate egg when you finish. Click here for more details.

Church Farm in Ardeley are a not-for-profit farming, food, care and education farm. Their aim is to enhance the countryside, provide people with special needs the opportunity to learn and grow, conserve wildlife and farm ecologically. Over the holidays, you can pop along to the farm to feed the lambs, meet the Easter Bunny and even walk the goats!

Roll up! Roll up! The first-ever Ashridge Vintage Fayre is coming to town. Between 1-10 April there’ll be fun for everyone, with traditional rides set against the backdrop of the beautiful Ashridge Estate spring garden. At the fayre, you can expect favourites such as the Helter Skelter, Dodgems, the Big Wheel and more. There will also be a bunny trail, garden games and lots of seet treats on sale.

If dance is your thing, you may wish to head to The Place this Saturday 30 March to take part in their Centre for Advanced Training (CAT) Experience Day. Located just five minutes walk from St Pancras Station and home to London Contemporary Dance School, attendees will take part in two dance classes followed by a creative workshop, CAT talk and group sharing with invited parents/carers. Tickets cost £10.

If you are heading into London, the Capital's churches and cathedrals including Westminster Abbey, Saint Paul's and Saint-Martin-in-the-Fields, will  welcome visitors to worship throughout Holy Week and Easter. Daily services are free to attend and include morning prayer, holy communion, sung eucharist and evensong. On 29 March, you can watch a spetacular free performance of The Passion of Jesus featuring 100 performers in Trafalgar Square. There are performances at 12 noon and 3:15 pm. No tickets or booking are required, the 90-minute performances are completely free of charge. There will also be a performance of Handel's Messiah at the Royal Albert Hall on Good Friday. The Royal Choral Society has performed Handel’s Messiah on Good Friday afternoon at the Royal Albert Hall every year since 1876, except during the Blitz 1940-41 and Covid pandemic 2020-21. This annual concert is one of London’s great Easter traditions and the perfect way to spend Good Friday afternoon.
