Easter Sports News

The Easter holidays brought tremendous success for many of Queenswood’s sports stars. Here is a brief summary of their achievements; photographs to follow shortly.

EllieGilmore (Year 7) and Jessica
Hurley (Year 10) competed at the National Schools Biathlon Finals at the
Olympic Par – they placed 72nd (U13) and 22nd (U15) respectively.

Alice Wills (U6) represented
England U18 in Holland at the Four Nations Tournament, leading the team on the
field as Captain in their final game against Holland. Alice was also voted player of the season for
Holcombe Ladies 1st Team who play in the National Premier Hockey
League.

Hannah Williams (L6)
ran a 400m PB of 55.24 (current ranking
5th U20 Power of 10) and thus gained provisional selection for the
Youth Commonwealth games this summer. Hannah also took her Intermediate Concetti Ballet Exam with fellow L6
student Lucy Baker!

Ellie
Gilmore
(Year 7) came 2nd at the Regional Team Kata Finals and has therefore
qualified for the National Karate Finals with her Team.

Lucy Baker (L6) and Zainab Jeppe (Year 7) were placed 4th
at the Hertfordshire Schools Team Golf Championships.
Zainab
also competed in the Rose Bowl competition.

Charlotte
Tatham (Year 7), Ellie Gilmore
(Year 7), Jessica Hurley (Year 10) and Rebecca Hurley (L6) qualified for the
National Mini marathon – we wish them the best of luck this term!

Chloe Berko-Boateng (Year 7) has achieved
four regional qualifying times including a PB for 200M Breast 3.01.77. She is now number 2 in the ASA East Region for 12 year olds.

Michelle Mitchell
(U6) competed in the South African nationals and achieved two silver youth
medals in 100m and 200m butterfly.

Well done
to all Queenswood girls who have competed over the Easter break – we look forward to more
news and results this term.
