Fine Art, Photography, Textiles and DT Students Explore London’s Galleries
Friday 27 September 2024
ISABELLA W, YEAR 13
On Tuesday 24 September, Fine Art, Photography, Textiles and DT students took on London visiting lots of different galleries including the V&A, Whitechapel, Tate and Barbie exhibition.
I was on the Photography trip where we were lucky enough to visit the Fragile Beauty exhibition by Sir Elton John and David Furnish. It was truly eye-opening with such a vast range of work on display. There was so much to see and so many different concepts to consider and influence me during my A-Level personal investigation.
We also visited the Whitechapel, Peter Kennard: Archive of Dissent exhibition, which was very unique and contained some very serious but moving topics with really thought out meanings behind his work. I was particularly blown away by his photographic installation, displaying his work on newspapers, acetate, light projections and more.
I loved how different both the exhibitions were and feel that it was a really beneficial trip and an experience I will definitely utilise within my upcoming work. (Of course meeting Tom Grennan at Potters Bar station was a bonus too!)
