VICTORIA LOOKER, HEAD OF GEOGRAPHY

To help celebrate the National Festival of Fieldwork, which has been held during the Summer term, over the month of June 2024, Year 7 and 9 Geography students have been making the most of Q's gorgeous grounds.
Year 7 have been investigating the microclimates around Q in order to consider the best site for a bench as part of their Microclimates mini topic.
Year 9 have been conducting habitat classification and vegetation surveys to investigate how bumblebee-friendly the grounds of Q are as part of their Fragile Earth topic, particularly the plight of pollinators.
We are so lucky to have such wonderful grounds to make on-site fieldwork possible. It has been great to get out of the classroom and take Geography into the real world.
