Great Results for Q‘s New Riding Squad at Inaugural Competition

Tuesday 29 November 2022

MRS JANE ENGESTROM, TEAM MANAGER

The new Queenswood Riding Squad took part in their inaugural competition on Saturday 26 November at Berkshire College of Agriculture, and performed superbly.

  • In the 70/75 cm, class the Q Team were placed 4th. Individually, Elina S-S came 9th, Amy S came 11th and Amelie M picked up just 4 faults to finish 25th. There were 33 in the class so the girls (all Year 8 students) did really well. Elina also placed 4th in the County Qualifier section of this class.
  • In the 80/85 cm class, Ella R (Year 12) rode with guts and determination. Sadly her pony lost his confidence, which led to elimination, but she is to be commended on her tremendously positive attitude
  • In the 90/95 cm class Florence C-B (Year 8) and Izzie E (Year 13) both rode very clear rounds; Izzie finished 23rd and Florence 24th out of a huge class of 61 entries.
  • In the 100/105 cm class Izzie E (Year 13) rode a lovely clear round, finishing in 8th place out of 32 entries. Willow H (Year 12) rode her young mare beautifully, picking up confidence all the time to finish 22nd.
  • Willow got a late entry to the 110cms class and picked up just 8 faults to finish 4th.

I am very excited to be Team Manager for this group of committed and talented riders. They were so thrilled to be out competing with their ponies and horses for Queenswood, and with more competitions on the horizon, the future is looking bright!
