House Music: Battle of the Girl Bands
Monday 7 October 2013
On Sunday 6 October, the four Middle School Houses competed for the coveted House Music trophy. Each House presented a varied programme of small ensemble and large group pieces, arranged entirely by the girls themselves. The audience enjoyed a truly wonderful afternoon of music making.
Our adjudicator Miranda Francis, Head of the Junior Programme at the Royal
College of Music, was extremely impressed by all the performances and had
a really difficult job deciding on the winners.
After a lot of deliberation, the following prizes were awarded:
- Best Large Ensemble: Survivor (Waller)
- Best Small Ensemble: Manic Monday (Hartley)
- Best choreography: No Scrubs (Hartley)
- Best printed programme: Hartley
- Best individual costume: Megan Huggins (Clapham South)
- Individual ‘X Factor’ performance: Toluwa Agboola (Clapham North)
- Overall Winners: HARTLEY
