Thursday 25 August 2016
With 84% A*–B, Queenswood students are celebrating another very impressive set of GCSE results.
There were strong results across the 24 subjects taught. In Mathematics, 50% of all candidates achieved an A* grade. In French and Spanish, two thirds of the grades awarded were A*, while in Latin – an increasingly popular subject since its recent reintroduction to the curriculum – 100% of candidates achieved an A*.
Almost half of the year group achieved at least 8 A*/A grades, with one candidate amassing an astonishing 14 A* grades.
In congratulating the girls, Queenswood’s new Principal, Mrs Jo Cameron, said: “We are very pleased with these GCSE results. They represent a great deal of hard work and commitment on the part of the girls and the staff, and are proof of the exceptional ‘added value’ of a Queenswood education. Our girls now enter the Sixth Form with real confidence as they embark upon their chosen A-level and Pre-U courses.”
