The standard of debate at this year’s Inter-House Debating Competition, held for the first time in several years in the Clarissa Farr Theatre, was impressive.

Eight debaters – winners of classroom heats held earlier this week – tackled the motion ‘This House would abolish school uniform’.

Hartley and Clapham South did a valiant job of proposing the motion, but ultimately the worthy winners were Clapham North for the Opposition, with Waller in second place.

It takes a great deal of bravery, not to mention a high level of mental gymnastics, to debate in front of a live audience, and we would like to thank everyone who put themselves forward.
