Introducing Mrs Vine, Queenswood's New Head of Learning Resources
Friday 1 December 2023
A study by the National Literacy Trust has found that almost a million children in the UK do not have a single book of their own at home; an alarming statistic that reminds us how truly fortunate we are at Queenswood, to enjoy such a knowledge-rich and accessible Library. We are delighted to announce that Mrs Julie Vine, previously Exams Officer, has been appointed Head of Learning Resources at Queenswood - a role which combines leading the Library and the Q Archives - and is looking forward to managing this inspirational learning space and connecting with our students as they utilise it going forward.
If you would like to support the National Literacy Trust in ensuring all children have access to books, you may wish to participate on behalf of the charity in the London Landmarks Half Marathon, taking place on 7 April 2024. This event is a great option for both seasoned runners and those who are just starting out, as well as a great opportunity to see the sights! The cost to enter is £25 and runners are asked to raise £350 for the charity. Runners must be aged 17 years or older.
If you do decide to take part, please do let us know!
