Joyous celebrations at Queenswood’s School Tennis Tournament

Friday 10 June 2016

The School Tennis Tournament this year was played in glorious sunshine, with our Tennis Patron Naomi Cavaday (former Tennis Scholar and GB No. 6) presenting the prizes at the end of a great afternoon of matches.

The tournament is open to all ages and abilities, with girls invited to enter their own doubles pairings. A total of 136 matches were played in the first half of the summer term to ensure we were ready for the finals on Friday 27 May.

The highlight of the day was the Nicola Mabbitt Tennis Final which saw Georgie Walker, our current Tennis captain, face Olivia Peet. After an hour and a half of outstanding matchplay Georgie triumphed 7-6 5-0, with Olivia having to retire in the final set due to injury.
