London Marathon Challenge: Please support Year 13 Student Mia
Friday 8 March 2024
We are excited to share the news that in addition to preparing for her upcoming A Level exams, Mia M (Year 13) will also be taking on the momentous challenge of competing in this year's London Marathon. Mia is running on behalf of the charity Headway Hertfordshire, who work tirelessly to help people affected by brain injury, and she would be most grateful if you could support her fundraising. Mia is hoping to raise £2,000 for the charity and you can visit her JustGiving page here. Mia tells us more about her London Marathon challenge below.
Mia M (Year 13)
I will be running the London Marathon 2024 in hopes to raise money for Headway Hertfordshire in April this year...(I'm petrified!)
Initially, I thought about signing up to do the marathon as a personal achievement however after meeting so many of the inspirational clients that my mum works with, I have grown more admiration in the work that Headway Hertfordshire do so why not support this charity and hit a personal goal!
Headway Hertfordshire works tirelessly to support people with brain injury. Their staff and volunteers work across Hertfordshire, providing vital information, support and services to people with an acquired brain injury, their families and carers, striving to improve their lives after a life changing event.
Brain injury is a hidden disability with around 1 million people visiting A&E each year. The term 'head injury' or 'Acquired Brain Injury' includes any traumatic injury to the brain caused by Strokes, accidents and injuries that can lead to changes in physical and cognitive ability and have an impact on emotional wellbeing and sometimes behavioural.
Join me on this journey of training, trying to avoid any bumps in the road (literally and metaphorically). Any donations would be massively appreciated.
Thankyou so much and wish me luck!!!
