Lower School dazzle in stunning production of ’13’
Friday 24 May 2019
Years 7, 8 and 9 staged four performances of the riotously funny musical 13 in the Clarissa Farr Theatre in May.
The irreverent story of a Jewish boy displaced from New York to suburban Indiana just months before his all-important Bar Mitzvah was told with amazing bravado, and the girls delivered exceptional performances across the board.
Technology dominated the design of this production - characters were glued to smartphones while giant screens relayed social media posts. The live band raised the level of musicality to new heights, and there was some truly audacious choreography involving malicious cheerleaders, flying swings and a spectacular golden toilet on wheels.
We have received some delightful comments from audience members...
"We thought [13] was fantastic. Well done to all the girls involved, including the older girls behind the scenes."
"Many congratulations on a brilliant Lower School play – hilarious and highly entertaining from start to finish with another incredible set and accompanying music. "
"Another terrific show!...[S]uch an entertaining, professionally produced theatrical experience - and so funny too."
"We really enjoyed it -a very professional production and the girls looked like they also enjoyed it! Absolutely great evening!"
"We all loved it!! So much talent in the Queenswood pot!!"
