For a second year in a row Hockey Scholar Milly Davies (Year 11) is heading to the National Finals of England Hockey’s Girls’ U16s Championships, along with Sports Scholar Gaby Murray-Panayiotou (Year 10).

As part of Southgate Hockey Club’s U16 team, the weekend of 11-12 March saw the girls win their Regional Finals in Sevenoaks. It was a nail-biting day with hard-fought matches against Guildford, Sevenoaks and Richmond.

Both girls played some sensational hockey to help Southgate come away with a draw and two wins. The team remains unbeaten this season and now travels to the Olympic Park in April, where the top 8 club teams in the country will compete to become U16 girls’ national champions.

As a warm-up for this final tournament of the season, at the start of April Milly and Gaby will also be competing with Southgate U16s in the Home Counties Girls’ Premier League Finals in the hope of retaining this title. We wish them lots of luck!
