There’s such a wealth of musical talent here at Queenswood, and it’s been a particularly successful couple of weeks for our music scholars.

Last weekend Lilia C (Year 7) scooped up an impressive clutch of prizes, including two 1st places for her solo song & dance performances, in the Starz UK Dance Essex competition in Clacton-on-Sea – her first entry into a contest of this kind.

Meanwhile cellist Kalli Z (Year 11) achieved a distinction in her ATCL Diploma. She also performed at the BBC Proms with the National Youth Orchestra on 1 September, in a concert that included music by Mahler, Wagner, Missy Mazzioli and a new commission from Dani Howard.

Our first Virtuosi Concert of the year takes place in the Ernest Read Hall on Thursday 10 October, where you’ll be able to hear our scholars in action.
