National ‘Poet-Tree’ Day at Queenswood
Friday 11 October 2019
Odes among the oaks, rondeaus in the rhodododendrons, sonnets in the silver birches...
For National Poetry Day this year, we brought literature out of the Library and into the natural world. With verses by writers such as Simon Armitage, Nikita Gill, Robert McFarlane, Jackie Morris and Mary Oliver suspended from branches across the campus, fluttering in the autumnal breeze, this was a perfect example of poetry in motion!
Thank you to our wonderful librarian, Ms Truran, and her assistant, Ms Gaffney, for their tireless efforts to foster a love of reading among the Queenswood community.
