Neurodiversity Week 2024: Celebrating our Unique Strengths and Differences
Friday 22 March 2024
This week is Neurodiversity Celebration Week 2024, and at Queenswood, the Personalised Learning Team shared with us what neurodiversity is, how neurological variances should be respected, and how we can celebrate the strengths and talents of people with learning differences. We were reminded that to support those who are neurodivergent, we should:
- Be kind, understanding and encouraging of others.
- Don’t make fun of anyone who is different or who is finding something difficult. Instead, celebrate and compliment others on their strengths.
- Never forget that you have the power to make a positive difference to someone who may be having a difficult time.
In addition, the Personalised Learning Team canvassed students about their experience of neurodiversity, and Miss McNeaney crafted the word clouds below from their responses. You can find a presentation all about Neurodiversity Celebration Week here.
