1 October is Nigerian Independence Day, and this year the Queenswood community marked the occasion with two special events: a party in the Pavilion on Thursday night, and a wonderful meal in the Dining Hall on Friday lunchtime.

Dishes included suya chicken kebab, efo riro stew, jolloff rice, cajun potatoes, fried plaintain, ochre, courgette and red onion panache, brown bean salad, and pancakes with mango and blueberry compote.
