We recently learned of the passing of the actress Elizabeth Sellars, who was a pupil at Queenswood from September 1935 to July 1938.
Elizabeth trained at RADA, graduating in 1940. After the second world war, she enjoyed a successful career on television and on stage, and took leading roles in low-budget British thrillers.
She played opposite Humphrey Bogart in The Barefoot Contessa, and featured in movies with Marlon Brando and Richard Burton in the 1950s.
She continued to appear on the small screen well into the 1980s; one of her most memorable later roles was in A Voyage Round My Father starring Laurence Olivier.
