Head to St Albans on Sunday between 10am and 4pm to visit the town's Vegan Market. With over 60 stalls, the market traders will be selling a variety of vegan fast food, healthy eats, artisan savouries, sweet bakes, craft cheeses, handmade cosmetics, ethical clothing and locally made arts and crafts.
The Hertfordshire Philharmonia will be performing at St Mary's Church in Potters Bar on Saturday evening at 7.30pm. Herts Phil Plays Brahms, led by Conductor Martin Smith along with violin soloist Gabriella Bavetta, will include Mendelssohn's Hebrides Overture, Brahms' Symphony No. 1 and Bruch's Violin Concerto No. 1. Tickets are available here or at the door.
Local photographer Penny Bird is currently exhibiting her portraiture work at the Eric Morecambe Centre in Harpenden. Penny's exhibition To Harpenden with Love includes photographs of a diverse range of Harpenden characters ranging in age from 3 to 94. Admission is free and there is no need to book ahead.
Looking ahead to Thursday 10 February at 7pm, our older students may be interested in joining a virtual talk by artist Anna Ray in conjunction with St Albans Museum and Gallery. Anna will discuss her practice and the artworks in her current solo exhibition, Fibre and Form. There will be a Q&A at the end of the talk to encourage further discussion and responses from the audience. You can register for a place here.
