Parent Webinar: Helping your Children to Have Healthy Friendships
Friday 2 February 2024
On Monday 29 January, we were delighted to host a pastoral webinar for parents of students in Years 7-10, with guest speaker Alicia Drummond from Teen Tips - Wellbeing Hub. The talk explored the world of child and adolescent friendships and relationships.
Research shows that having healthy social relationships protects young people’s mental health and influences behaviour such as teenage risk taking. In her talk, Alicia talked about what parents and carers can do to build the social skills which are so vital for creating friendships, setting boundaries, and resolving conflict.
Mrs Stokes, Deputy Head Pastoral, would like to express her thanks to all parents who took the time to provide their feedback after the talk. It was most encouraging to learn that parents found the webinar interesting, insightful and worthwhile. We look forward to welcoming the team from Teen Tips at future pastoral events.
