Pastoral Session for Parents: Awkward Conversations
Friday 7 June 2024
MRS STOKES, DEPUTY HEAD PASTORAL
On Tuesday 11 June from 7pm to 8pm, we will welcome Isla van Tricht to Queenswood for a parents' pastoral session on awkward or difficult conversations with our children. We would really like to encourage parents to attend this session.
What will the session be about?
Education is the key to young people having healthy future relationships, and that education is most effective when it takes place both in school and at home. In this session, Isla will give an overview of her two student talks 'Consent' and 'Pornography', before going on to provide information, tools and advice about how to approach sex education topics with young people - how and when to have these conversations, and what to say.
We hope that parents will leave the session informed, inspired and empowered about having 'those awkward conversations' - about sex and relationships - with their child. This talk is suitable for parents of children of all ages.
The session will take place in Queenswood's Clarissa Farr Theatre on Tuesday 11 June at 7pm. Please indicate your attendance here.
