Continuing our virtual tour of Queenswood, this week we are heading to the Music Department.

Queenswood has a long and enviable musical heritage. Under the direction of Ernest Read (1920–1965), the school earned an international reputation for excellent musicianship which continues to this day.

We offer an attractive Scholarship package for young instrumentalists and singers who show real passion, talent and potential.

Our most gifted musicians perform in prestigious venues in the UK and overseas, such as the Barbican, the Ritz Hotel and Pistoia Cathedral in Tuscany. They have won scholarships to the Royal Academy, Royal College and Guidhall.

We have a team of twenty specialist music teachers, and our facilities include the 100-seat Ernest Read Hall with two beautiful Steinway ‘B’ grand pianos, four ensemble rooms, a music technology suite and more than a dozen practice rooms.
