Queenswood Flute Teacher releases archive recordings
Thursday 11 September 2014
Ms Evelyn Frank, Flute Teacher, has released a CD of archive recordings. The performances, of music by Debussy, Messiaen, Boehm and Bartok, date from the late 1960s and early 1970s.
If you are interested in purchasing a copy, please contact Ms Frank via the Assistant Director of Music, Christos Kokkinos.
“The selection of pieces on this CD were taken from an important time in my studies in the 1960s, having learnt with some of the finest and most inspiring teachers, including Hans-Peter Schmitz at the Detmold NWD Musikakademie…The Akademie i set in a quiet, picturesque town in Germany and has always had internationally renowned professors and students from countries worldwide. This is a selection of performances from that time which meant a lot to me, and that I wanted to bring back to life by having them transferred from reel-to-reel recordings to CD. They have been kept as much as possible in their original state to retain their authenticity.”
