Queenswood Music – a sensational tour of Liguria
Monday 31 October 2016
Thank you very much for your performance in our – Fr. Claudio Fasulo, Cattedrale di San Siro, Sanremo |
33 musicians from Queenswood School enjoyed the most
sensationally successful concert tour of the Italian Riviera during the first
week of the October half term.
Our base was the elegant fin de siècle Lolli Palace Hotel in
Sanremo, with spectacular views of the Mediterranean. From here the girls
enjoyed an excursion to Genoa, where they participated in a mouth-watering
cookery course, and crossed the border to explore Nice and Montecarlo. They
also took advantage of the stunning coastal cycle path in Sanremo, and even
managed to squeeze in some paddling in the Med!
Four concerts were staged in a range of exquisite venues. In
particular, the church concerts in the Chiesa di Santaterra, Bordighera and the
Concattedrale di San Siro in Sanremo were extremely well attended and rapturously
received by the very appreciative local audiences. After the Bordighera concert
we were treated to some excellent hospitality by the Franciscan friars. The
girls also enjoyed the opportunity to perform to local schoolchildren in the
stunning mountain town of Dolceacqua.

We were interviewed by local journalists in Sanremo, and
received a glowing write-up on the Bordighera.net website.
