Queenswood came agonisingly close to their fourth Aberdare Cup win in a row in July.

After a tight semi-final against Cheam, which the girls won 4-2, Georgie Walker and Becky Smaller won their respective singles
matches against Talbot Heath in the Final. The two teams were locked at 2-2 before the doubles matches.

Molly Reed and Katty Weymouth missed out on victory in their match. Becky Smaller and Ema Lazic won their first set, but lost the second in a tie break
and eventually the match was decided in Talbot Heath’s favour in a championship tie break.

Talbot Heath were the stronger team on the day but naturally the girls were
hugely disappointed to have come so close to triumphing once again. Nonetheless, we would like to congratulate them on their superb achievements.
