We are delighted to announce that two of Queenswood’s sports stars have won prestigious individual prizes at the Welwyn and Hatfield Times Sports Awards.

Wheelchair Tennis Player Esperanza Merry (Year 9) and athlete Rebecca Hurley (Lower Sixth) were honoured at the awards event on 26 February 2015. Esperanza was named Young Participant of the Year, while Rebecca took the Secondary School Pupil prize.

Rebecca’s sister Jess (Year 10), also an athlete, was shortlisted, as were Upper Sixth Hockey stars Alice Wills and Chrissy Horn.

It was tremendous that the girls’ commitment and achievement have been publically rewarded, and we would like to congratulate all winners and shortlisted nominees.
