Queenswood’s tennis aces depart for World Schools Finals in Rome

Thursday 23 May 2019

We would like to wish the very best of luck to Queenswood's tennis team, who will be departing for the World Schools Tennis Championships in Italy during half term.

It will be Queenswood's third appearance at the biennial competition since 2013. Two years ago, our team picked up the bronze medal in Brazil.

As the UK's number one school for girls' tennis (according to the LTA's end-of-year rankings), we are honoured to be representing England on the world stage.

This year our team comprises five extremely talented and level-headed players who regularly compete far beyond their age group in national competitions: Maia Mountain, Issey Purser, Given Roach, Jess Matthews and Imogen Haddad.

Director of Tennis Catherine Sluter is thrilled for the team. 'It is such a huge event, and for some of the girls will be the highlight of their career!'

They leave for Rome on June 1. We will of course keep the school community updated with all the latest news from the competition via our social media channels.
