We were honoured that Reverend Sonia Hicks, the first black female President of the Methodist Conference, visited Queenswood on Monday 11 October.

She toured the school, meeting pupils and teachers and dropping in on classes and activities, and spent time with members of our Senior Prefect Team and the Senior Chapel Stewards.

The highlight of the day was an interview with Rev’d Sonia and our own Chaplain, Rev’d Vindra Maraj-Ogden in the Clarissa Farr Theatre, which was live-streamed to the whole school.

Sonia spoke of her surprise and delight at appointment as President for 2021-22, her thoughts on being a role model to women and people of colour, and her determination to combat injustice and prejudice.
