ADRIENNE S, YEAR 11

Here are some profiles of members of staff who work in Catering, Lettings and HR. We want to give them the recognition they deserve on Staff Appreciation Day!

Stephanie Hall has been working at Queenswood for 19 years now as Head of Catering and Lettings. She works tirelessly to ensure that our needs are met and we are all so appreciative of the hard work she puts in every day. She loves every aspect of her job, especially her amazing team and the beautiful school and also working with the students. She loves to spend time with family and friends and we are all incredibly grateful for all the effort she puts into her work.

Dave Watkins has worked at Queenswood for six years and does a mix of everything in the kitchen from chopping to baking to frying. His favourite part of his job would have to be having a great team who help out, and in his free time he enjoys playing football. We are so thankful that our chefs make excellent food everyday!

’Kechi Abia has been working at Queenswood for three years as the Human Resources Manager. She ensures all staff at Queenswood are recruited and inducted properly and also manages employee relations. Her favourite part of the job is meeting different people and learning about their different experiences prior to joining Queenswood. She also loves helping staff members resolve their conflicts or issues, and seeing the smiles on their faces when the issues are resolved. She enjoys watching good movies, baking, and travelling and we are all so grateful for her amazing problem resolution skills!

Tom Watkins has worked at Queenswood for the past 11 years, as he looks after lunch and dinner services. He also meets clients through QEL. Mr Watkins has said that his favourite part of his job is seeing the smile on everyone’s faces when they come through to collect their food. Other hobbies that Mr Watkins enjoys are sports of most kinds, but his favourites are Football, Cricket and Squash. Thank you Mr Watkins for everything you do and have done. We really appreciate you!

Matthew Stannard has worked at Queenswood for the past six years, and his job involves cooking for the girls and staff. Mr Stannard says that his favourite part of his job is creating new dishes and recreating different cultures’ food - a job us students are very appreciative of for the chance to learn about and experience parts of other cultures. Mr Stannard also enjoys cooking at home and spending time with his children. Thank you for your time and creativity at Queenswood Mr Stannard, we really appreciate you!

Darren Kennedy has been working for the past six years, and part of his job is running the day-to-day kitchen. Mr Kennedy says that the favourite part of his job is the people he works with. On top of this, Mr Kennedy enjoys sports in his free time, but we are very appreciative of the time he gives up to cater for us all! Thank you Mr Kennedy for all that you do, and we hope you enjoy the sun in these upcoming weeks to play sports!

Catherine Neville has been working at Queenswood for 14 months and works as a Kitchen Porter. She washes all of the dirty trays that come through the kitchen, as well as maintaining a clean environment for the chefs, which is incredibly helpful and useful. Her favourite part of her job is the teamwork, watching the staff in action and how it all comes together. She also loves to read and spend time at the gym. We are so appreciative of everything she does in the kitchen and I’m sure her teammates are as well.
