We are thrilled to report that our Support Staff colleague Matty Lee, was awarded his Gold Duke of Edinburgh Award on 15 May. Matty, accompanied by his mother and fellow Queenswood member of staff, Ms Jo Lee, received his award from the Duke of Edinburgh at Buckingham Palace.

As a DofE Ambassador, Matty recently visited 10 Downing Street, to deliver a letter about the significance of the DofE scheme within education. After delivering the letter, he then went to the House of Lords to meet with Baroness Tanni Grey-Thompson and the Shadow Secretary of State for Education, Ms Bridget Phillipson to discuss this most important issue. Even though Matty has achieved his Gold Award, he is still keen to continue his DofE adventures, and last weekend he supported our pupils on their Bronze Award Practice Weekend.

Also receiving a Gold Award at this very special occasion was Mrs Stokes' son Joe. We send Matty and Joe our warmest congratulations on their outstanding achievement.
