The Hurley Cup: Inspiring Inclusion on International Women’s Day
Friday 8 March 2024
The Queenswood community marked International Women’s Day with a very special Hurley Cup run. This annual cross-country event is held in memory of Phil Hurley, a great patron of Q Sport over many years.
There were face-painting and bracelet-making stalls, raising money for the Girls Out Loud charity, which run programmes to ‘empower girls to channel their potential and make better life choices’.
Students (and staff!) deejayed on the terrace, while the whole school, dressed in House colours, ran or walked a mile around the campus in beautiful spring sunshine to earn House Points. There were some fantastic fancy dress costumes on display, and some of our four-legged friends even got in on the act!
It was a wonderful celebration of Queenswood’s inclusivity, which is the theme of this year’s International Women’s Day.
